I have a friend who commented on FB that as of August 8th, he'd have half the family "married off."
Well.... "married off" is a complicated term. I think it should be just stated: "married." The children are really never "off," they're just away (or near as the case may be) and that's the way it should be. In my younger years of marriage I erroneously thought that parents work really hard to bear, teach, raise and love their children and then they get married and parents' "work" was over. Well, parenting is never over. Just like Heavenly Father... He never leaves us, just allows us to be independent; He chastens, loves, directs, mentors, sorrows, rejoices... nothing changes... The children just start on their own families and we now become grandparents.... You see? GRAND parents!
You gotta love it!
